This group is specifically for descendants of Joseph and Ann Jarvis of Chatham, Kent. The majority of descendants engaged in family history are actually descended from their son Samuel Hugh Jarvis and his wife Angelina (or Angeler) Elizabeth, née Tunbridge.
This group is a successor to a former group that used Yahoo Groups. That group has now been defunct for ten years. There are now a good number of us Jarvis descendants who never even knew of the old group. So the time is ripe to have a fresh start.
Please feel free to contribute information on your own lines of descent, photographs, family trees, and any relevant family history narratives. Discussion of the possible birth and parentage of Joseph Jarvis himself will always be of particular interest.
