NOTE: In order to perhaps get some discussions going again, I have loosened the definition of who can join our group to include family members of ANY age individual on the spectrum, and also to all of Washtenaw County.
Ann Arbor Families for Autistic Children's Education and Support (A2FACES) is open to Family members of individuals (of ANY age) with or suspected of having autism spectrum disorders enrolled in Ann Arbor, MI public schools, other school districts in Washtenaw County, and/or residing in any area in Washtenaw County. We also include families thinking of moving to Ann Arbor or Washtenaw County.
This group consists of family members dedicated to:
(1) obtaining the most appropriate education for Ann Arbor school-aged children with autism spectrum disorders, based on best practices, and
(2) improving services for these children by educating parents and the community, and
(3) looking at long-range services and options for our family members with ASD, through the life-span, and
(4) providing information and support to each other.
