The TakomaPark list is forum for, by, and about Takoma Park, DC and MD (and downtown Silver Spring and Langley Park too!): Community news, notices, and discussions about neighborhoods, city & county government, schools, public safety, entertainment / recreation, transportation, development, and all other things local to our corner of Washington DC and Maryland.
For offers & inquiries about services -- "I need a plumber." -- and to advertise items for sale, please use your neighborhood e-mail list.
List rules: Please keep discussions respectful. Hate speech, ad-hominem attacks, harassment, and misinformation will not be tolerated. Do not continue list discussions with list members off-list, in a way that a message recipient may see as harassing or threatening. Doxxing is not allowed, the posting of others' previously private personal information, or the posting of improperly used public records, or use of the group to offer or solicit weapons or illegal items such as fireworks. Join only under your real name, although if you feel you must use a pseudonym, contact the owner providing your real name and the reason you wish not to use your real name.
Anyone violating any of these rules may be suspended or removed from the group without notice.
Finally: We do not allow members to set their message delivery to no e-mail, which would be an indication that someone is not fully engaged in our community.
