Radio Astronomers who are Radio Amateurs! radioastronomy-hams@groups.io

This group is mainly for professional radio astronomers who are (or have been) licensed radio amateurs.  That includes scientists, engineers, staff, retirees, and students who work in radio astronomy or allied fields.  Actually, astronomer-hams of any stripe ("multi-λ") are very welcome. Our interests include:

  • Encouraging ham radio as a path toward amazing science and technology careers
  • Communicating the excitement of astronomy to the Amateur Radio community
  • Technical and ham operating activities
  • Sharing stories and history

About joining us:  Please join following the procedure Groups.io has established here.  Unfortunately, they don't allow us to ask for a few critical bits of information.  We will be sending you an email to get your actual name and your current or past callsign (if any).  This is for our membership database.

We are not the Society of Amateur Radio Astronomers!  (But they are our friends. See their web.)
