A moderated community discussion and announcement group for residents and businesses in the Palisades and  all neighborhoods in ANC3D (AU, Berkley, Foxhall, Kent, New Mexico/Cathedral, Spring Valley and Wesley Heights.) Sponsored by the Palisades Community Association.

We welcome and depend upon contributions from our members. Before posting, please be aware of these guidelines:

* All postings must be specific to life in the Palisades

* All postings must be signed with, at a minimum, the first name and street name of the poster. For those posting on behalf of organizations an organizational affiliation is acceptable too.

* Postings must be addressed to the list and not to other members. Postings on contentious topics should focus on ideas and issues, not on people and personalities

* Disparagement of identifiable members of the Palisades community is prohibited

* Abusive and profane language is prohibited.

* All postings should be original to this list and the work of the person whose signature appears on them

* Conversations that are no longer providing enlightenment may be closed by the moderators.

* Posters should make every effort to keep postings short; if responding to earlier messages they should be trimmed. Posters with messages that require more detailed explanation are encouraged to submit a one or two paragraph summary and a link to a web site with the complete text.

 

 

Special rules for certain types of content

* Businesses which primarily serve the Palisades may post informational messages about products or services they offer up to once per month.

* Real estate that is located in the Palisade that is offered for sale or rent by the owner may be advertised, no more than once per month

* Multiple items offered for sale or giveaway should be consolidated into a single post with no more than one photo per item

* During elections, we encourage candidates to post announcements of their candidacy, neighbors to post endorsements of candidates they support, and those hosting events that are open to the public to post announcements of those events. However, we ask that everyone follow the following guidelines:

** Please keep postings reasonably short, one paragraph is ample. If that is not enough space for your message then post a link where the interested can read the rest of the message.

** Please don't copy and paste talking points. The message should be your own words and thoughts.

** Please limit yourself to posting the message one time.

** Please remember that all postings must follow listserv rules and have a signature, be directed toward the list, and not disparage individuals.
