Has anyone heard anything about or from Dick Eastman? His last newsletter was dated 18 November. There's nothing on his site or on Facebook that I can find indicating he was going to go on holiday. It's a little concerning.

Diane lives (or lived) in Upminster, Essex / Greater London. She was keen on moving the RootsWeb lists to Groups.io, but didn’t rejoin the Essex-UK group after it was set-up. I haven’t heard anything from her since. She also was on IRC in the #rootsweb-admins channel for a while, but that was also before 2020.

Thanks, Elmo for your reply. Diane and I have collaborated for several years through Rootsweb lists and migration to Groups.IO. I live in Georgia, USA so my contact possibilities are practically zero.

Hello Lynne,

You are such a font of knowledge!! Thanks for the information and can advise I don't have the computer set to delete Cookies.

I have read and re-read the instructions you sent, and cannot exactly remember how I went about changing the password, but

will go back and try again using the advanced settings.

I will let you know how it goes.

Hi Mary

When you changed your email address on your group, did you follow the directions from the Help pages? I include them below. If you didn't, that might be why you're having login problems.

The other thought I had was maybe your browser is set to delete cookies when you close it. If it is, that might be the cause of your problem.

On your Account page, you can change or set your email address, password, social login preference, and alternate email addresses (email aliases):

Note: If the fields you see are different from the ones listed in the table below, you might be in a different section of your Account page. To display the fields listed below, select Login in the left navigation menu on your Account page.

To:	Follow these steps:
Change your email address	In the New Email field, enter your new email address. Click Change Email. In the Verify Email Change popup that appears: Carefully review the new email address, which is displayed in bold, and ensure that it is correct. (If it contains a typo or other error, click Cancel to return to the Account page, then reenter the new address and click Change Email again.) If you are certain that the new email address is correct, click Yes. When you receive a confirmation email from Groups.io at the new address, reply to that email to confirm the change. Note: This change applies to all groups you are subscribed to at the original email address. If the new email address is already registered with Groups.io, a page appears that explains the account merge process and prompts you to verify that you want to merge your Groups.io accounts. If you made a typo when you entered the new email address and you did not notice before you clicked Yes to confirm it, see Recovering your account if you enter an incorrect email address.
Set or change your password	In the New Password field, enter the new password. Click Change Password. The main advantage of setting a password for your Groups.io account is not having to deal with your login expiring in 30 days (see Logging in without setting a password).
Set or change your social login preference	If you want to log in to Groups.io through Facebook or Google (instead of through an email address and a password), select the applicable checkbox (or you can select both) and click Change Social Login Preferences. Note: If you registered through Facebook or Google when you created your Groups.io account, or if the first time you logged in to Groups.io was through Facebook or Google, the associated checkbox will already be selected on your Account page.
Add email aliases	If the email provider you use for your Groups.io account sends your outgoing messages from an address that is different from your account address, or if you want to be able to send messages to groups from an additional address (for example, a work address) that is different from your account address: Click Advanced Settings For Email Addresses to expand that panel. In the Email Alias field, enter the address you want to be able to send messages from. Click Add Email Alias. Note: You will not receive group messages and notifications at addresses that you set up as email aliases. Group messages and notifications are sent only to the email address that is registered with your Groups.io account. If you add an email alias, you can log in to your Groups.io account using that alias, just as you would with your account address. You will be logged into Groups.io as though you had logged in through your account address. Logging in to Groups.io through an email alias that is linked to your account address does not create an additional Groups.io account.

For well over 12 months now I have had a big problem signing in to my lists.
I have listed the issue previously and none of the replies I received have been able to assist me.   The problem began
when I changed my email address, only because the company I was with were cancelling their email service.   So I
created a new one in gmail and it was accepted then for some reason it would not work.   So now I have to get an
access through via a 24 hour link.
Whilst understand listowners can give me advice, is there anyway I can contact those who run this group to assist me.

Just tell people to go to www.groups.io and log in.

Isn't it obvious that telling people to reply to a message from "noreply@..." is confusing?

I thought it was phishing as well, but it's legit. A move made by the owner of Groups.io to help remove one of the servers from Spamhous black list.

OOops I didn't even consider that it was spam, so I replied to verify my account.

I am admin of several groups and didn't want to lose control

Hello,
Can anyone help me with a subscriber query about the email he received below? I have nothing in admin log to say it was sent. I can clearly see him, have been a member as long as he has and have not been asked to reverify my account????

My silent groups are silent; the busy ones are busy.

I occasionally post a short follow-up answer while I'm in the group online, but almost always post by email with zero problems. I ensure that every group is in my Contacts in gmail and I generally copy/paste to ensure that there are no typos.

I received this message on Gen-Listowners today and postings on another site yesterday, 12/17. So, the system seems to be working.
Did you post your failed test message online or via email? Several times I have tried to post messages via email and found my email app chose to send it via an address that does not correspond with groups.io. Perhaps, this is what happened.
