We welcome neighbors who live in the Oakview neighborhood of Silver Spring, Maryland, who want to participate and support our community. Oakview is bounded by Prince Georges county to the East, the Northwest Branch park to the West, the Beltway to the North, and Northampton Drive to the South. New Hampshire Avenue bisects a slim portion of Oakview which borders PG county to the East. The neighborhood has its roots in GI's returning from WW2 with the first homes appearing in the early 1950's, "Stateside Drive" named after their desires to live "Stateside" after the war. We are a diverse neighborhood with people from all over the world. Our 2 neighborhood elementary schools are JoAnn Leleck and Roscoe Nix. Note: Business solicitations are not permitted on this group. However, if a member is in need of a business recommendation, group members can respond in kind.
