Changing the exposure time is now working for the 3072x2048 resolution. The maximum frame rate at that resolution is 10 fps. Exposure times below 100ms result in exposures shorter than the frame time.
Setting the gain is also working. We always run the sensor in "low light" mode which should give an additional 3dB gain.
Next steps are lower (binned) resolutions, if possible at higher frame rates, and calibration with the EXTA.

A first "working" version 0.5.20-alpha of the IMX178 firmware is available. It outputs an image at 3072x2048 pixels:
